Although the summer is peeking around the corner, we are still having trouble with wintery issues like a dry skin. Wouldn't it be great to have a nice product to spoil your skin without paying too much money? Today we would like to show you an easy recipe for a DIY lemon handscrub. Time for soft and lemony smelling hands ladies!
What do you need?
- A small jar for your scrub
- Sugar
- Olive oil (or any other oil)
- Lemon juice and zest
- A few drops of vanilla
- A mixing bowl
What do you need to do?
Pour the sugar into the jar you want to use for your scrub. Add two extra tablespoons to accomodate for the shrinkage of volume. Then dump the sugar into a mixing bowl.
 |
Now slowly add small amounts of (olive) oil to the sugar until it holds shape and is no longer crumbly.
Now squeeze the juice from the lemon and add a small amount to the mixture. Make sure that the smell of the olive oil is masked by the smell of the lemon juice. If your mixture still smells like olive oil, just add a little more lemon juice.
Now rasp the skin of the lemon and add it to your mixture for an even yummier smell. |
Adding the drops of vanilla is optional, but we found that it masked the olive oil scent even better and made the scrub smell really nice!
All you need to do now is scooping the mixture into your jar and you're all done.
Happy DIY'ing!
Nice....for men also? :)
ReplyDeleteOfcourse! Your hands do smell a little like lemon, but if you don't mind the smell, you're good to go. :)
